Welcome to CHARTMANS. It is an exciting time for us as we continue to grow, we strive to remain as adaptable, motivated, and responsive to our clients. We pride ourselves on being client focused with respect to the unique employment issues which our clients seek to redress.
While some may treat legal protections and constitutional provisions as guidelines, we see them as guarantees. Our record for the wronged and the powerless bespeaks our commitment to hold the law to its word and its promise. CHARTMANS has the skills, tools, and "best practices" needed to assist the client in making a decision that allows for reconciliation on the one hand and results on the other hand.
CHARTMANS provides legal services as a designated representative under a federal license. We represent federal employees and contractors before federal tribunals worldwide. We carefully examine the facts related to a client’s case before we accept a case, as it is our mission to ensure any case we accept is meritorious. Once we are sure we have a full understanding of the legal issues at work in the client’s employment, we will collaborate with the client to determine how best to present the case before a federal tribunal. This often requires more than a single session or even a week or two interviewing the client. The longer the investigative process, the more likely the client will prevail because we are able to build on the knowledge we have acquired through ongoing communication with the client.
A clear understanding of the client’s role and the legal principles at work in a case is two of the most consistent predictors of success and satisfaction. If you do not understand the case as it proceeds toward hearing, you cannot know whether we are on the right path — and that uncertainty can take a mental toll. CHARTMANS provides guidance to new clients in productive and efficient ways. We will explain deadlines and timeframes, case processing, legal principles, and the evidentiary metrics at work in the client’s case. These efficiencies in communication can, for the new client, reduce anxiety, stress, and fear, particularly if the client is currently employed with the federal agency which is named in the formal complaint.
To ensure we provide clients with the best chance of success, CHARTMANS INC will explain the role of agency representatives, witnesses, administrative judges, and the Office of Federal Operations. We will provide the client with realistic expectations and responsibilities for their future success in their employment with the federal agency. For example, we will encourage the client in collaboration and productive team
work, include details not just of the employee’s role, but how their role fits in with other team members’ roles, and the overall goals of the agency. Indicate any responsibilities or projects for which the client will be involved once the litigation has ended.
CHARTMANS will also work with the agency to set realistic and manageable goals (both short and longer-term). Short-term goals should be duties the client can execute — for example, scheduling lunch once a month with supervisor or coworker or creating a schedule to help with time management. As time goes on, the level of responsibility can increase, and longer-term goals can be established. These expectations could include tasks such as taking a public speaking course to enhance communication skills, taking the lead on a project to get leadership experience, or achieving performance incentives.
